Special cooling tunnels and freezing tunnels
Depending on the product to be cooled, a design is made of the cooling or freezing tunnel. Important factors in the design are accessibility to the machinery in the cooling tunnel and the type of cooling-freezing media used (e.g. a water-glycol solution, CO2, NH3 or Freon). An air dryer is used where necessary to maintain a specified level of air humidity in the tunnel. Cooling tunnels can be designed with separate temperature control for each section. Equipment is also designed to make tunnel cleaning easy.
Tunnels are made of stainless steel with the outer structure made of FDA-approved sandwich panels.
